Stanway Swim Club accepts swimmers into the club who can swim Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke to a level with their age and experience and will not result in embarrassment or distress or hindrance to them or their fellow members.

In normal circumstances the minimum age for joining the club is 8 years old, however younger swimmers can join at the coaches discretion.

All swimmers are assessed before joining the club by virtue of completing a trial session within a normal club training session, to ensure that the minimum standards are met.  A request for trial can be submitted at the Register For Trial page on the clubs website.

Safety of the swimmers is paramount to the coaching staff and committee of the club and operates a swimmer to coach ratio of 30:1 as per the maximum ASA guidelines for competitive swimmer training.  Ordinarily ratios of 18:1 are not exceeded.

All coaching sessions are supervised with the minimum of a level 1 qualified coach.  In the event of adverse weather or coach illness, the members will be offered access to the pool under the terms of the facility providers "private hire" NOP terms and conditions.

At all times there will be at least one member of the facility provider who holds a current First Aid at Work Certificate or Life Support (RLSS).
